Staff Attorney

As Staff Attorney, you'll partner closely with our General Counsel to provide practical, business-focused legal guidance across a growing company. You'll play a key role in supporting franchise operations and compliance while advising on commercial transactions, real estate matters, marketing initiatives, and emerging legal issues. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where legal is viewed as a strategic business partner. How You’ll Make an Impact: Serve as a trusted legal advisor on franchise operations, franchise compliance, and franchise-related agreements to support the Swig's continued growth. Provide legal guidance on leasing, real estate transactions, and other commercial matters that support new and existing locations. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, technology, service, and supply chain contracts. Partner with Marketing and business leaders to review advertising, promotions, and customer-facing communications for legal compliance. Support Swig's evolving data privacy, AI, and technology initiatives by identifying risks and providing practical guidance. Develop legal templates, processes, and resources that improve efficiency and consistency across the organization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and outside counsel to proactively identify legal risks and implement practical, business-minded solutions. What You’ll Bring to the Role: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction 3-5 years of legal experience in-house, at a law firm, or a combination of both Experience supporting franchise systems, franchise operations, or franchise compliance, preferably within the restaurant, retail, or consumer services industry. Experience advising on commercial real estate matters, including leasing and related transactions. Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements. Familiarity with marketing and advertising law, consumer promotions, data privacy, artificial intelligence, or technology-related legal matters is preferred. Excellent business judgment with the ability to balance legal risk while enabling business objectives. A collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented approach with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
