District Overview Kiewit’s Oil, Gas, and Chemical Engineering Group is a full-service engineering firm. Our staff has expertise that spans all major engineering disciplines, serving the LNG, midstream, refining and petrochemical markets. With unparalleled experience, our construction-focused engineering prioritizes constructability and safety in the earliest phases of projects to ensure on‑time and on‑budget delivery. Our rapidly growing oil, gas and chemical team includes structural, civil, piping, mechanical, process, process safety, electrical, instrument and control disciplines. It is a leading‑edge division of Kiewit with best‑in‑class technical expertise focused on the EPCC delivery model for dynamic process facilities. Location This position is based out of our Energy Corridor Office in Houston, TX. Responsibilities Proactively learn new information and skills. Initiate the development of personal objectives aligned with those of the organization. Seek feedback and use it effectively. Have a good understanding of the complete design and contribute input into ways of improving the design. Utilize codes and standards to complete assignments. Recognize inefficiencies or misuse of symbology and raise questions. Identify the customer, both internally and externally. Handle various assignments, including rework, in a timely manner to meet schedule deadlines. Perform assigned work efficiently and effectively to maximize productivity. Perform quality checks of the design in a team environment to ensure accuracy. Carry out assignments carefully while focusing on details. Qualifications Associate degree or high school diploma + 2 years of experience as a minimum. 2-4 years of relevant experience in civil/structural design. Receives limited instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignments from more experienced engineer. Adjusts to varying demands of work and performs well. Communicates effectively orally and in writing. Presents ideas clearly and professionally. Participates on teams effectively. Accepts direction from the team. Contributes individually to the success of the team. Supports project teams and departments in a positive and productive manner. Works well with others to accomplish common goals and objectives. Serves as point of contact for external or internal customers. Follows through on commitments made to internal and external customers. Manages multiple responsibilities with set expectations and meets deadlines. Intermediate AutoCAD skills. Other Requirements Work productively and meet deadlines timely. Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
