Join a high-volume, well-established Neurosurgery practice in Tampa, Florida, providing inpatient rounding, first assist surgical support, and call coverage. This locums opportunity offers the chance to work alongside a comprehensive neurosurgical team serving both adult and pediatric patients at a large Level II Trauma Center.

Assignment Details

Start Date:

Assignment Length:

• Ongoing

Coverage Needed:

• Full-time provider
• 40 hours per week
• Providers must be available to work a minimum of two weeks per month
• Local candidates preferred

Schedule:

• Inpatient rounding
• Surgical first assist responsibilities
• Call coverage

Call Schedule:

• Weekend call rotation:
  • Approximately 1:4/5
• Night call rotation:
  • Approximately 1:4/5

Practice Setting:

• Hospital

Facility Details:

• 600+ bed facility
• Level II Adult Trauma Center
• Level II Pediatric Trauma Center

Team Structure:

• Five Neurosurgeons
• Four Advanced Practice Providers

Patient Population:

• Adult and pediatric patients

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient neurosurgery rounding
• Assist neurosurgeons in the operating room
• Perform surgical first assist duties
• Evaluate unassigned neurosurgical patients
• Participate in night and weekend call rotations
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, APPs, nurses, and hospital teams
• Document patient care using Cerner

Support & Technology

EMR System:

• Cerner

Requirements

• Active Florida Physician Assistant License required
• Board certification required
• Minimum one year of Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider experience required
• Operating room first assist experience required
• ACLS required
• BLS required

Credentialing
