Job Description

This role focuses on fabricating and welding custom industrial work platforms, mezzanines, ladder platforms, stairs, and steps for high-profile and government-funded projects. You will use MIG and TIG welding on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel to produce precise, structurally sound assemblies based on blueprints and detailed drawings. The position requires a strong fabrication background, excellent welding skills, and the ability to work extended hours in a busy manufacturing shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel components for customized platforms, mezzanines, ladders, stairs, and steps.
• Weld material thicknesses typically ranging from 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch, ensuring strong, clean, and consistent welds.
• Fabricate parts according to blueprints and detailed drawings for fully custom orders, maintaining dimensional accuracy and quality.
• Use fabrication equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces, including setting up assemblies and measuring components before and after welding.
• Fit and assemble structural components, verifying alignment and fit-up prior to welding.
• Inspect and test welds to verify results, including checking bead size, penetration, and other specifications to meet quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan and execute fabrication and welding tasks.
• Use tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances throughout the fabrication process.
• Work effectively in a production environment while maintaining a strong focus on precision and structural integrity.
• Consistently follow shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Work 50–60 hours per week as required to meet project schedules and production demands.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of MIG welding experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of MIG welding experience specifically on aluminum.
• Proficiency in MIG welding on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel materials.
• Ability to perform vertical and horizontal welds with strong technique and consistency.
• Demonstrated experience examining welds for bead size, penetration, and adherence to specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and detailed drawings for customized products.
• Strong fabrication skills, including fitting, measuring, and assembling structural components.
• Proficiency in using welding and fabrication tools to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld materials.
• Competence in blueprint reading and tape measure usage for accurate layout and fabrication.
• Experience working with structural components, sheet metal, and industrial platforms.
• Availability and willingness to work 50–60 hours per week.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with TIG welding on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
• background in aerospace-related or high-specification fabrication work.
• Experience with flux core welding processes.
• Exposure to production welding environments with custom and structural projects.
• Familiarity with fabricating industrial work platforms, mezzanines, ladders, and structural assemblies.
• Comfort working with sheet metal and structural steel in a shop setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing shop environment. You will work around welding, cutting, and fabrication equipment, with typical shop noise and activity levels. The position requires working 50–60 hours per week, which may include extended shifts and overtime to meet production and project deadlines. You can expect to handle aluminum, steel, stainless steel, sheet metal, and structural components regularly. Proper protective equipment is used in the shop, and attire should be suitable for welding and fabrication work in an industrial setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of O FALLON, MO.

The pay range for this position is $54000.00 - $72000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
