Job Summary
Employee will set up and operate the Evolution in a manner that will keep line supplied with packages, minimize weight give away (overfill) and product rejects by communicating with slicer operators. Responsible for achieving #1 yield standards by collaborating with the slicer operator. Engage in the required rotational programs, follow all GMP's practices, and sanitizing of the work area during operations. Follow all Safety and Quality policies and standards to ensure the safety of our product is maintained! Employee must become LOTO Certified, lift up to 50lbs overhead, and perform repetitive work at standard line speed! Must gain and use knowledge from the Case Packer Operator/Utility to be an active participant in the QCD team.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Efficiently troubleshoot equipment problems and drive resolution on basic operation level issues. To include functions and theory of operations for the EVO. Understand error messages and perform first step trouble shooting.
- Have the ability to operate multiple/additional equipment, including Top and Bottom Labelers, 2D bar coder system, and Metal Detector.
- Individual must be capable of performing minor maintenance tasks on equipment or “fine” equipment adjustments. Perform tear down and set up functions of the equipment.
- Capable of maintaining and understanding home settings, standard work, 5S, and implementation of Lean initiatives in area of ownership.
- Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks and a larger scope of responsibility in addition to the basic operating requirements.
- Understands KHMS, Perform Centerlines on equipment, Perform CIL, Update Performance boards hourly.
- Must report out Top losses, quality, and safety issues from previous shift and current shift in the level 1 meeting, as well as report out the win for that day.
- Follow issue process, understand 5S process, 100% engagement, conduct accurate shift hand off for the next shift, understands daily problem handling process, fill out defect handling card.
- Must troubleshoot machinery and use mechanical tools to perform basis mechanical tasks; fill out all KHMS and operational forms completely and legibly; open and document unplanned downtime in the OEE system; complete the end of shift reconciliation paperwork for their lines daily; understand and perform maintenance duties on their lines.
Slicer Operator
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Fully operate the Textor slicer using the control panel and proper lifting techniques to remove clips and casing from the logs on the racks, cutting, loading, and conducting rechop inspections.
- Achieving #1 yield standards.
- Responsible for all GMP practices and sanitizing of work area during operations.
- Become certified on all slicers (Textor and Carruthers).
- Learning how to pack and prevent rework at an efficient rate in order to complete the break out routine.
- Employee may be required to lift up to fifty pounds and use a knife repetitively.
- Retain knowledge from certification course to be an active participant in QCD team.
- Understands KHMS, Perform Centerlines on equipment, Perform CIL, Update Performance boards hourly.
