Forklift Operator

Overview Forklift Operator safely operates industrial trucks to load, unload, stack, and transport. Responsibilities Operate forklift, ensuring the safety harness is securely worn while operating the equipment. Load/unload trucks; secure all pallets accurately and move to and from designated areas of the facility. Move parts and other materials around the facility using pallets and crates. Stack loads in correct storage bays, following inventory‑control instructions. Place parts into inventory. Perform daily pre‑operation inspections (fluids, tires) and report mechanical issues. Read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines. Assume other duties as assigned. Requirements High School Diploma/GED (Preferred). Prior forklift experience. Prior automotive experience. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Basic computer skills. Basic oral communication; may write brief messages and keep simple records. Problem solving limited to simple, repetitive tasks; follow standard procedures with no decision‑making involved. Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager; assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager. Physical Demands Occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods. May be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment; must work in cramped spaces or beneath vehicles that may require awkward positions; may regularly wear PPE; may be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels. Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; on occasion, may lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. #J-18808-Ljbffr
