ENGINEERING SR MANAGER

Meaningful Work and Personal Impact As an Engineering Sr Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing a highly skilled team that provides comprehensive engineering, scientific, technical, and programmatic support to research, development, test, and evaluation activities for acoustic and non‑acoustic ship signatures. Your work will support the mission of the Ship Signatures Department at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, enhancing the Navy’s stealth capabilities. Responsibilities Collaborate with government, academia, and private industry stakeholders to achieve program objectives and the mission. Drive key outcomes and how the team innovates and resolves challenges. Utilize and develop specific tools, skills, or technologies in the role. Provide program planning and management for long‑range technology development projects, including exploratory and advanced R&D levels. Monitor financial status of projects involving multiple funding categories. Support acoustic recording systems development and certification, advanced development sonars, or ship signature RDT&E projects. Manage signature measurement systems, underwater acoustic programs, or ship signature trial planning. Qualifications Education: BS in engineering or related discipline. Experience: 20 years of related experience managing Navy systems projects related to U.S. Navy submarine or surface ship signature measurement or reduction. Twelve years of experience in program planning and management, including: Long‑range technology development project analysis and documentation at the exploratory and advanced development R&D levels. Financial status monitoring of projects involving multiple funding categories. Acoustic recording systems development and certification, advanced development sonars, or ship signature RDT&E projects. Signature measurement systems management, underwater acoustic programs, or ship signature trial planning. Security clearance level: Secret, TS or SCI Eligible. U.S. citizenship required. Compensation will be based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements and may fall outside this range.
