Senior Accountant

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Washington, DC. Responsibilities:
- Senior Accountant will support the year-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Review and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Prepare audit workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation for external auditors
- Respond to auditor requests and assist with audit inquiries
- Maintain and reconcile restricted and unrestricted net asset accounts, as applicable
- As a Senior Accountant, you will assist with grant-related reconciliations and reporting
- Review fixed asset schedules, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other year-end accounting items
- Support preparation of financial statements and related schedules
- Identify accounting process improvements and assist with cleanup projects as needed
- Collaborate with finance leadership to ensure deadlines are met throughout the close and audit cycle
- Able to process payroll for 45ish employees
- Audit prep support
- Be able to get into the weeds and strong with reconciliations and Accounts Receivable
