Speech Instructor, Part-Time Adjunct (ESCC) Salary: $67.00 per hour Job Type: Temporary – Adjuncts Job Number: FY21-22-00589 Location: CC - ESCC, Bishop/Mammoth, CA Department: English (ENGL) Basic Function The successful applicant will provide instruction in a full range of Speech courses, including teaching at multiple campus sites, day or evening classes, weekend classes, large classes, distance learning, and using multiple teaching methodologies. Representative Duties Other duties include participation in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the Communications department; maintaining subject matter currency; developing and revising curriculum; using computer and multimedia technology; and collegial participation in departmental, college, and discipline‑specific professional activities. Minimum Qualifications Master's in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication or organizational communication; or Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in drama/theater arts, mass communication, or English; or Equivalency as judged by the screening committee. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Degrees and credits from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Degrees from outside the United States must be evaluated by an approved credential‑evaluation service. The screening committee reserves the right to limit the number of interviews granted. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview.
