GreenLight Solutions is looking for a Green Team Program Manager to lead our Green Event Services program - the team that #StarvestheLandfill at events across Arizona. We work everything from small corporate and church events, to music festivals, conferences, and stadiums of 30,000 people. Who We Are Seeking The ideal candidate thrives on juggling a dozen moving parts at once: client communications, supplies logistics, volunteer rosters, waste hauler partnerships, and more. This person is self-driven enough to own a project end-to-end with minimal oversight, lead a team, take constructive feedback, and ensure clients, staff, and volunteers feel valued. The ideal candidate is an efficient problem solver and strong communicator: resourceful, flexible, adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of building a strong sustainability strategy. They aren't afraid to push for a better way of doing things, and when something doesn't go as planned, they learn from it and pivot quickly. They remain calm and organized when an event shifts at the last minute. Most importantly, they care about real, measurable impact - not just checking boxes. What We Are Looking For Motivated, self-driven, and independent - able to own a project end-to-end with minimal oversight Professional experience in sustainability and/or nonprofit field Strong organizational and planning skills Able to juggle multiple moving parts with grace and attention to detail Strong problem solver Proactive risk mitigator Strong written and verbal communicator and public speaker Team player who is great with people Open to consistent, constructive feedback - a lifelong learner Comfortable working within a structured task management system Skilled with AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude - comfortable with daily use and are always looking to level up these skills Familiar with Google Drive and Notion What You Will Gain Hands-on experience in sustainability program design, staff training, and end-to-end program leadership and delivery Skills in evaluating and maximizing nonprofit program impact A network of nonprofit leaders and sustainability professionals in the Phoenix area Position Details Type: Part-time, seasonal 1099 contractor. The workload and hours are yours to shape - bring in more events to grow to full-time, or keep it part-time. Location: Must reside in the Phoenix-metro area. Hybrid between remote work, events, site visits, and GLS Warehouse. Start Date: August-September 2026 Hours: Flexible and based on your schedule. We ask that you keep a generally consistent schedule and communicate it to the team. Compensation: $1,000/event Events are roughly 20-40 hours of work (depending on your efficiency and the event's complexity). As you master the role, you can complete events in 20 hours or less. Each event spans a 2-3 month prep-to-closeout cycle. ~15 events/year to start, with the opportunity to grow to 52+ events/year (we welcome events every week of the year!). Bonus Compensation Opportunities: On top of your Program Manager compensation Prospecting Commission: Bring in new clients through prospecting and earn a commission on every event you secure. The sky is the limit. On-Site Lead Hourly Rate : Working the actual event is not required. Program Managers receive first right of refusal for the On-Site Lead role, which pays an additional $22-$25/hour. Check-ins: Remote, 30-min 1:1 with CEO 1-3 times per week (higher frequency during onboarding/training period). Since 2022, GLS Green Events Services have diverted 73 tons from the landfill, contributing to 210 tons of CO2 emissions avoided and 28,000 meals donated to those in need. Since 2013, GLS Youth Sustainability Projects have trained 424 students in workforce sustainability skills and delivered 103 sustainability projects across 75 businesses. What Success Looks Like As Green Team Program Manager, you will own these outcomes: Client Success - clients are highly satisfied, retained, and walking away with a compelling sustainability story. Team Success - staff and volunteers have a positive experience, are retained, and a full roster is filled for every event. Impact Maximization - waste diversion is optimized at every event and that impact is captured and reported. Smooth Execution - events run on schedule from Discovery Session through post-event stewardship. Program Growth - the Green Team program is consistently growing: increase in tonnage diverted, events, clients, annual contracts, and national expansion. This role leads the Green Team program and is responsible for the full event lifecycle: sales calls, quoting, site visits, intake, supplies inventory, communications, and impact reporting; volunteer and staff recruitment, coordination, and payments; waste hauler and partner communications; and impact storytelling.
