Gilbane is seeking an MEP Manager to define the MEP execution process, oversees all MEP staff, and works on a single, large construction project; may serve as the project manager on projects that are predominantly MEP. You will protect and promote the interests of both Gilbane and the client in all matters as well as demonstrating the personal characteristics of a developing leader.ResponsibilitiesApproves all MEP and Commissioning schedulesAssists with the preparation of the GMPSupervises MEP subcontracting strategies and originates Scopes of Work for MEP bid packages and equipmentNegotiates pricing and change orders with contractors and equipment manufacturersPerforms MEP constructability (IDC+) and coordination reviews of contract documentsProvides guidance and approves the MEP Contractors schedule of valuesDefines best approach for MEP buyoutEnsures timely and proper execution of the MEP Coordination Process (BIM)Creates a project specific MEP quality plan and verifies its proper executionPerforms site inspections for MEP compliance with contract documents and manages third party inspection processEstablishes and implements controls to identify and correct negative trends affecting the commissioning programCommunicates with the owner/owner's representative on a regular basis to understand expectations and ensure customer satisfactionTrains direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasksManages the workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standardsFosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team membersAids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reportsCollaborates closely with business development to ensure seamless integration with sales strategies including performance metrics on your assigned projects, pursuits, and client deliverables. Actively participates in opportunities to strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships that position Gilbane as the "Builder of Choice"Qualifications EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering10-15 years related field experienceOSHA 30 hour certifiedPrevious experience with controlled environment manufacturing facilities (clean room and similar)Management of multiple projects commissioning programPrevious experience with commissioning software platforms to plan, track and close all commissioning activitiesOr equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Strong scheduling skills with proficiency in scheduling softwareStrong risk management skillsAbility to manage the quality assurance process for all MEP workAbility to create an environment where "safety first" is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitudeAbility to demonstrate strong communication skills.Ability to demonstrate a comfort level in interfacing with owner, trades workers, inspectors, and internal operations team to drive effective team success and positive culture.Ability to demonstrate a comfort level in leading meetings and training for groups of differing sizes up to 100.Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.For California this ranges from $158,200-$222,750 plus benefits and retirement program.Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
