REPORTS TO: Assistant Finance Director & Finance Director

Hourly Part Time Start Pay $23.00-$27.00 (Maximum 30 Hours)

Position Summary:

The Finance Administrative Clerk part time is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the Organization. This role serves to ensure that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the organization.

Major Accountabilities:

• Accounts receivable / cash receipts, cash checks, internet and wire transmission documentation of cash receipts payable to the City for applicable departments that take in payments for City Services.
• Record warrant (receipt documentation), prepare bank deposit, and take to appropriate bank.
• Enter, review and post each transaction into the Finance department’s financial software system.
• Receive payment transaction for the City self-collection of local income taxes receipts;
• Crosstrain with Finance Clerk I (Account Payable) as backup when needed
• Backup support for the City’s Receptions as needed to answer phone calls to the general switchboard, greet and check in visitors.
• Assembles, date stamps, and distributes incoming mail.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistance Finance Director.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Finance Director.
• Order supplies and goods for various departments
• Various other duties as needed.

Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Accounting or Business is a plus but not required.
• Excellent math aptitude is a must and essential to perform the job
• Accounts receivable and payable experience, preferably in a computerized environment
• Proficient with ten key adding machine.
• Typing of 55 wpm.
• Good oral communication skills.
• Demonstrate courteous and respectful assistance
• Ability to attend to details
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Other duties as assigned.
