Class A Diesel Mechanic Technician

Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations. Communicate and interact with co‑workers. Technicians document, complete, and keep work orders for all repairs and parts used daily. The role requires performing road‑call services as needed. Primary Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units). Identify root causes of basic failures/conditions and execute required repairs. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical parts to ensure proper operating condition, replacing parts as needed. Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration before becoming road‑worthy. Maintain thorough documentation for work orders via the online Enterprise Asset Management system. Install, replace, and repair onboard computers. Use hand and power tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks, hoists) for routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication. Train other employees. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. 5 to 7 years of proven medium to heavy‑duty vehicle repair experience, including preventative maintenance, tire & wheel service, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in A/C refrigeration.
