Ice Technician

The Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual for the position of Ice Technician. This position supports daily operations and maintenance of the Stephen C. West Ice Arena to ensure a safe, welcoming, and high-quality experience for all guests. Key responsibilities include performing ice maintenance and light facility upkeep, setting up equipment, assisting with program delivery, providing front-line customer service, registration and scheduling, handling cash, enforcing departmental policies and procedures, collecting guest feedback, and driving Town vehicles within non-commercial limits. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences in a dynamic recreational environment.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One (1) or more years of customer service experience required.

Licenses or certificates required:

• Community CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications required within 60 days of hire.
• Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.
• A valid Colorado Driver's License required prior to operating any Town-owned vehicles.

Desired qualifications:

• Skate sharpening / Ice Resurfacing experience preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.

Additional Information

Typical hiring pay range: $21.50 - $22.75 per hour.

Work schedule: Primary shifts for this position generally include six to eight (6-8) hour shifts, ranging from early mornings to midnight. Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability, and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
