Entry-Level Buyer

Entry-level buyer position responsible for executing standard purchasing transactions in support of the manufacturing organization. This role focuses on learning Mirion's procurement cycle, executing purchase orders for MRO, off-the-shelf (OTS), and packaging materials, requesting and tracking supplier quotes, and supporting vendor follow-up and expediting activities. The Buyer Level I operates within established procedures and under guidance of senior buyers and the planning team, following purchasing priority spreadsheets and Limits of Authority (LOA) guidelines while building the foundational supply chain knowledge required to progress in the buyer career ladder. Success in this role is defined by consistent, accurate transactional execution and reliable supplier follow-up that supports the uninterrupted flow of material to the factory.

Essential Duties

• Enter standard purchase orders for MRO, off-the-shelf (OTS), and packaging materials.
• Request and track supplier quotes to support buying decisions.
• Manage drop shipment purchase order activity.
• Execute vendor returns with guidance from senior buyers.
• Process purchasing transactions in our ERP.
• Follow purchasing priority spreadsheets to align buying activity with production needs.
• Maintain consistent vendor follow-up and expediting of acknowledgements and shipments to support the manufacturing organization.
• Operate within SOX separation-of-duties requirements and the Limits of Authority (LOA) policy.
• Track and report purchase order status and supplier responsiveness to the planning and purchasing teams.
• Support the broader purchasing team with administrative and transactional tasks as assigned.

Essential Requirements

• Working knowledge of the basic procurement cycle (Purchase Order → Receipt → Invoice).
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP transactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for basic updating, tracking, and analysis of purchasing data.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for supplier follow-up and expediting.
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to produce consistent, accurate work.
• Ability to follow Limits of Authority (LOA) guidelines and established purchasing procedures.
• Ability to prioritize tasks using established purchasing priority spreadsheets.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).

Additional Requirements

• Prior internship, co-op, or work experience in supply chain, purchasing, or manufacturing operations.
• Exposure to an ERP/MRP system in an academic or professional setting.
• Awareness of manufacturing or regulated industry purchasing environments.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
• 0–2 years of purchasing, supply chain, or related operational experience.
