Food Service Manager - Bruce

Title: Food Service Manager Position Overview The Food Service Manager leads kitchen and dining operations for the Bruce cafeteria, ensuring food quality, safety, cleanliness, and exceptional customer service. The role delivers a high‑quality campus dining experience, implements HACCP, maintains standards, supervises staff, and fosters a guest‑first culture within the University of North Texas system. Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree in a related field and two years of experience in food service management; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Preferred Qualifications Previous Food Service Manager experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Thorough knowledge of food preparation and food service management in a large food service unit. Expertise in food safety, sanitation, HACCP compliance, and security precautions. Skill in training, supervising, evaluating subordinates, and maintaining time and cash receipt records. Rigorous adherence to documented service and production standards. Ability to identify and seek help when needed. Job Duties Oversee food quality and presentation to align with established standards and customer expectations. Develop and implement strategies to enhance service quality and refine food offerings. Provide comprehensive staff training on service etiquette and food safety. Create a collaborative team culture that encourages open communication and employee engagement. Ensure compliance with all university policies, health codes, and safety standards. Work Schedule and Other Information Hours vary. This is a security‑sensitive position.
