Lead Concession Runner | Part-Time | LA County Fair

Position Summary The Lead Concession Runner is available for all events to stock and replenish concession stands. This role will pay an hourly wage of $21.00 and is tip eligible. About The Venue The LA County Fair is a large annual event held at Fairplex in Pomona, featuring food vendors, entertainment, and attractions. It is a fast paced, high volume environment that requires strong organization and teamwork to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for guests. Responsibilities Assist with receiving and distribution control for the venue. Ensure proper transfer process of products between locations, including follow up documentation. Assist in performing maintenance; responsible for concession and utility equipment cleaning and maintenance, portable equipment, burden carriers, carts, floors, refrigeration, and lighting. Conduct a walk through of the commissary, warehouse, and storage areas after the day’s completion to ensure all areas are clean. Possess a thorough working knowledge of all existing concessions locations, geographical locations, equipment, evacuation procedures, adjacent employee and guest areas, and facility access. Perform opening/closing responsibilities of the bar/beer stand; ensure and maintain the area is operational. Change kegs / bibs / CO2 tanks / propane tanks / repair beer stands. Initial preparation and servicing of the bar, including restocking beer, ice, CO2; cleaning; and other duties assigned by the bar/beverage management team. Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, beer coolers, refrigeration, and storage areas to comply with health code standards, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing. Stock and rotate all coolers and maintain cooler temperature log daily. Check and assist the bartender in maintaining adequate amounts of supplies (e.g., stir sticks, napkins, glassware) for both the immediate bar and beer stands. Take pride in personal appearance, reporting to work in neat and clean clothing and maintaining well groomed hair and personal hygiene as company policy. Work in a team environment with the ability to be a team player and assist other team members when business needs dictate. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations. Operate golf cart and/or company truck occasionally to move equipment around the grounds. Qualifications 1–2+ years acting as a Runner or similar role in hospitality and food & beverage environments. Valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles. Knowledge or willingness to be trained on changing kegs / bibs / CO2 tanks / repairing PVC drain lines / changing light bulbs, etc. Preferred knowledge of draft systems – soda / beer. Knowledge of various beers, wines, and spirits. Ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Knowledge of and ability to appropriately interpret and follow policies and procedures. Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule to be at work on time and work long hours if needed; maintain excellent attendance. Work days, nights, and weekends as required.
