Recruiter

The Driver Recruiter is responsible for sourcing and recruiting qualified Independent Contractors, Company Drivers and Third-Party Carriers and maintaining an application pipeline to fulfill capacity needs. The Driver Recruiter will work closely with and maintain relationships with the Operations, Safety and Qualifications and Processing departments. They will work directly with the Corporate Operations Manager, Regional Managers and Terminal Managers to recruit and place drivers where needed in accordance with the companys goals and expectations. They will work with Advertising and Marketing companies to develop and promote strategies to adequately source leads to fill capacity requirements.Recruitment and solicitation of drivers and carriers through various advertisement mediums and lead generationManages the necessary sourcing and advertising of openingsDevelops and maintains a full understanding of the local driver labor marketHelp improve Independent Contractor and Company Driver Retention promote a positive business environment and become a source of guidance for driversWorks with transportation management and facilities management to identify staffing needs and requirementsDevelops networks with external sources to continually improve sourcing opportunitiesDevelops and maintains relationships with drivers through a variety of sources, electronically and face to face locallyMaintains and promotes DOT compliance during recruitment and hiring processEnsures compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations; shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences in all phases of recruitment processFrequent periodic contact with new recruits to promote retentionExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCapacity to multitask and handle high levels of stressBachelors degree preferred. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Must have 1 or more years of trucking or related transportation logistics management experience.Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects/tasks in a fast pace, changing environmentExcellent communication skills, verbal and writtenStrong prioritization skills, multi-tasking skills, and works with a sense of urgencyPassion for technology and continuous improvementKnowledge of DOT regulationsSedentary office environment. Exerts up to 25 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in an office, but may be required to spend a portion of the time in a warehouse, or outdoor trailer yard.
