Field Equipment Mechanic

Rental Fleet MechanicWe are seeking a skilled and dependable Rental Fleet Mechanic to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair a fleet of rental equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience working on diesel and gas-powered equipment, and a commitment to safety, quality, and minimizing equipment downtime.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on rental fleet equipment.Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues.Conduct equipment inspections before and after rentals.Troubleshoot and repair diesel and gasoline-powered engines.Maintain detailed service and repair records.Ensure all equipment meets company safety standards and manufacturer specifications.Perform welding, fabrication, and minor body repairs as needed.Coordinate parts ordering and inventory management.Respond to field service calls when required.Keep the shop and work area clean, organized, and safe.Communicate equipment status and repair needs to management.QualificationsRequired:High school diploma or equivalent.2+ years of mechanical repair experience.Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment maintenance.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Ability to operate diagnostic tools and equipment.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.Preferred:Technical school or diesel mechanic certification.Experience with construction, oilfield, agricultural, or rental equipment.Welding and fabrication experience.Equipment Worked OnMobile HeatersPower SwivelsPipe WranglersLight towersSkid steersGeneratorsAir compressorsHydraulic Power UnitsPickup trucks and trailersOther rental fleet equipmentSkills & CompetenciesStrong mechanical aptitudeAttention to detailTime managementSafety-focused mindsetAbility to work independently and in a team environmentExcellent communication skillsDependability and professionalismBenefitsCompetitive pay based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time offCompany-provided tools or tool allowanceOngoing training and development opportunitiesCareer advancement opportunities
