• Lead design development and direct the design team to create 3D data and drawings
• Conduct Design & Peer Review meetings to drive design development
• Resolve design or manufacturing related concerns within established timelines
• Hold and support customer, supplier and launch team meetings
• Analyze part and assembly parts dimensionally versus theoretical data and take measures of correction if needed • Lead in BOM development during the RFQ process • Review Drawing and Engineering specifications during the quote process • Develop DVPs and coordinate any and all testing needed to validate product design • Support with Benchmarking activities that align with our core competencies and sales plan Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Automotive Industry
• Knowledge/understanding of DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, APQP, and VA/VE process
• Experience with managing design-engineering process at the OEM level
• Mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge/understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance per ASME standards, advanced product quality planning, and IATF-16949 requirements
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies and procedure manuals and operating instructions
