Position Summary


We are seeking a X-Ray Technologist for an immediate contract opportunity at the VA Portland Health Care System in Portland, Oregon . The selected candidate will perform diagnostic radiographic examinations while maintaining patient safety, imaging quality, and compliance with established radiology procedures.

Schedule

• 8-, 9-, or 10-hour shifts
• 4-5 days per week
• Rotating day, evening, and night shifts

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations
• Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures
• Operate radiographic equipment safely and efficiently
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images
• Verify patient identity and explain procedures
• Maintain imaging documentation and patient records
• Monitor equipment performance and report issues
• Follow radiation safety and infection control procedures
• Assist with portable X-ray procedures as needed

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiography
• Current BCLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of X-ray experience
• Recent hospital X-ray experience within the last six months
• Professional liability insurance
• Available for a minimum six-month commitment
