Registered Nurse - Outpatient Infusion Specialist

Location: Glens Falls, NY

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Days, 8 hours per shift (varying times between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Job Description: The Outpatient Infusion Specialist will provide patient care excellence in a comfortable and convenient outpatient setting. The role involves administering a variety of infusion therapies, managing patient care, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure quality treatment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer intravenous and intramuscular medications, including antibiotics, antifungals, and immunoglobulin therapy.
• Perform blood transfusions and maintain central venous access devices.
• Provide education to patients for self-administration of medications.
• Assist in placement and maintenance of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines).
• Conduct therapeutic phlebotomies and manage specialty medications for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 2+ years of current experience in outpatient oncology and infusion.
• Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN) and Chemotherapy Certification (ONS) are required.
• Experience with peripheral IV insertion and port/fistula/catheter management is required.
• Current New York RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and IV Certification are highly preferred.
• EPIC experience is required.
