Responsibilities
- Assemble plane de-icers, aircraft tow vehicles, cargo loading systems, airport gate equipment, and military-related equipment according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Work within one or more departments (Loader, Deicer, and Traitor) and cross-train across departments as needed to support production demands.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on equipment and components, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs.
- Perform mechanical assembly using hand and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, files, grinders, and similar tools to make secure connections with nuts, bolts, washers, and screws.
- Make electrical connections using pre-fabricated harnesses, cutters, wire strippers, and crimping tools to ensure safe and reliable wiring.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawings to understand specifications, tolerances, and assembly sequences.
- Conduct self-audits and inspections of assembled work using drawings, checklists, and quality standards to verify accuracy and completeness.
- Follow established production and assembly line processes, meeting quality, safety, and productivity targets.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve assembly or design issues and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly storing tools, equipment, and materials and adhering to safety guidelines.
- Handle materials and components in an industrial manufacturing environment, including retrieving parts from the yard when required.
Essential Skills

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical/mechanical schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in assembly, installation, and repair of mechanical systems.
- Ability to use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, files, and cutters safely and effectively.
- Ability to operate power tools such as drills and grinders for mechanical assembly tasks.
- Experience making mechanical connections using nuts, bolts, washers, and screws to specified torque and alignment.
- Experience making electrical connections using pre-fabricated harnesses, wire strippers, cutters, and crimping tools.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.

- Previous experience in industrial manufacturing, aviation equipment, or military equipment assembly is advantageous.
- Experience in fabrication or construction environments is beneficial.
- Experience with installation and repair of complex mechanical and electrical assemblies is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and quality, with the ability to identify and correct assembly issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate clearly about technical issues.
- Willingness to be cross-trained across multiple departments and types of equipment.
- Adaptability to changing production needs and tasks within the manufacturing environment.
