Title: Data Analyst - Hybrid

Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 + Bonus & Equity Eligible

Location: Stamford, CT

A successful and growing publicly traded financial services organization is seeking an experienced Data Analyst with data analysis experience, preferably from a similar industry. This is an operational and oversight function involving evaluating regulations, researching, and analyzing data, understanding technical implementations of systems, and creating control procedures to test compliance.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities for the Data Analyst will include reviewing regulatory data to identify root causes and necessary remediation for errors
\n
• Utilizing UNIX command tools to make corrections to records as needed
\n
• Developing surveillance for regulatory reporting and operational data
\n
• Automating the Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT) business system.
\n
• Following up with software developers and/or management on any errors or exceptions that arise
\n
• Gathering facts to assist the firm in responding to examinations and formal inquiries
\n
• Proposing improvements to, or additional controls over, regulatory reporting
\n
• Perform ad hoc analysis and supervisory reviews as needed.
\n

Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a quantitative or analytical field.
\n
• 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, compliance, operations, audit, or finance.
\n
• Experience in an analytical role, preferably in the financial sector.
\n
• Strong data analysis, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Experience performing data analysis using programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl, or Go) and database queries (e.g., SQL)
\n
• Regulatory research and interpretation skills preferred.
\n
• FIX (Financial Information eXchange) protocol experience ideal.
\n
• UNIX experience, or ability to learn the operating system.
\n
• Experience using Atlassian systems (e.g., Confluence and JIRA) is a plus.
\n
• Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, FINRA Consolidated Audit Trail (“CAT”) / Order Audit Trail (“OATS”) systems.
