Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Iowa license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• No current placement allowed at Program: TrioWFS Program - UnityPoint Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Work history/resume/employment history must have 24 months of current MS/Medical Surgical/Med Surg experience. Ortho/Rehab experience required. Experience with total joint replacements and braces required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience administering cardiac IV/intravenous push medications highly preferred.

Special Requests: Past UnityPoint Health employees who are FTE or PRN for the UPH float pool cannot work travel in another market if they currently work there or have worked there within the past 12 months; this does not apply to travelers who previously worked travel at UPH. Unless the unit is closed, required to work 1-2 of the 3 summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Unit Details: Orthopedic unit with total joint replacement patients. Nurse-patient ratios: days 1:5, nights 1:6. Specific cardiac medications can be given.

Shift & Scheduling: Holiday rotation. Every other or every 3rd weekend depending on staffing/census. No call.

Floating Requirements: Required to float across all campuses — Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist — and like units when needed.

7 days maximum time off

2 references required from within the last 2 years
