A Day in the Life — Lockport, IL

Step into a clean, climate-controlled shop and take ownership of precision builds that power advanced industrial systems. From your organized workstation, you’ll assemble, solder, wire, and verify complex electro‑mechanical products, ensuring every unit meets rigorous quality expectations.

What You’ll Do

• Assemble electro‑mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products by following work instructions and engineering drawings.
• Perform SMT and through‑hole soldering, including fine‑pitch work under magnification.
• Build, route, and inspect cable assemblies and wire harnesses.
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and assembly documentation with accuracy.
• Conduct visual inspections and basic functional tests to confirm performance and reliability.
• Flag quality concerns, identify assembly issues, and suggest process improvements.
• Record production and quality data with precision and timeliness.
• Adhere to safety procedures and standardized manufacturing practices.
• Maintain a tidy, well‑organized workspace.
• Partner closely with production, quality, and engineering to hit schedule and yield targets.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of hands‑on electro‑mechanical assembly experience.
• Advanced soldering proficiency, including fine‑pitch components under magnification.
• Skilled in SMT and through‑hole assembly techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and quality mindset.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Clear communication and strong teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school, vocational training, military electronics training, or related education.
• IPC‑A‑610 certification.
• IPC J‑STD‑001 certification.
• Background building wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing.
• Exposure to ISO‑regulated production environments.
• Familiarity with electronic test gear and inspection tools.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $17.00–$25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
