Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical (Full-Time Day Shift)

Department: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)

Status: Full-Time, 36 hours/week

Schedule: Day Shift (Typically three 12-hour shifts)

Compensation: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour (Based on experience and qualifications)

Location: Gateway Regional Medical Center - 2100 Madison Ave. Granite City, IL 62040

What You'll Do

• Provide Patient-Centered Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for a diverse population of adult medical-surgical patients.
• Manage Clinical Care: Administer medications and treatments, monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and respond appropriately to patient needs.
• Coordinate Care: Work collaboratively with physicians, case managers, therapists, nursing assistants, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate effective patient care and discharge planning.
• Educate & Advocate: Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, medications, and care needs while advocating for patient safety, dignity, and well-being.
• Document & Communicate: Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation and communicate relevant patient information to the healthcare team.
• Support Quality & Safety: Follow hospital policies, clinical standards, infection prevention practices, and applicable Illinois nursing and healthcare regulations.

What We're Looking ForEducation & Experience

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing ( ADN or BSN ).
• Previous experience in medical-surgical nursing or another acute-care setting is preferred.
• New graduate nurses are encouraged to apply! We welcome nurses who are beginning their professional careers and are ready to grow their clinical skills in an acute-care environment.

Licensure & Certifications

• Required: Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
• Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Required: Ability to successfully complete Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training within one month of hire.
• Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the AHA or American Red Cross
