Procurement Assistant
GENERAL TECHNOLOGIES INC
We are looking for a Procurement Assistant to join our purchasing team. This position is responsible for managing supply inventory levels and creating, updating, maintaining, and setting up purchase orders in our purchase order system. The Procurement Assistant is also responsible for reviewing purchase orders, submitting for approval, processing the order with suppliers and updating the requisitioner. This position ensures that all purchase orders are processed and received accurately and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
- Receive all incoming purchasing requests for products
- Generate, transmit and expedite on all purchase orders
- Update purchase orders with current price and lead time for delivery
- Update supply lists with notes, pricing and quantity changes
- Monitor and maintain supply inventory levels per min and max standards
- Comply with all purchasing policies and procedures, including ethical/ legal obligations
- Requests quotes from vendors as requested.
- Monitor notices from suppliers to eliminate delays, and informs requisitioner of any changes in expected delivery dates
- Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
- Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree or higher preferred)
- 2+ years experience in a similar purchasing role
- Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Sound judgment, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Build, maintain, and foster strong relationships
- Intermediate skill level Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Organized and capable of handling high volume of interactions with all departments
- Ability to multi-task various processes and projects
- Must have effective time management skills to manage multiple priorities

Job Type & Schedule: FT, Mon-Fri, 8am-5p m. Some weekends might be required during inventory audits and cycle counts.
Compensation: Depending on Experience
