The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as a Machinist. The Lead Machinist assist the Machine Shop Supervisor in managing production for particular job or set of products. They recommend strategies in ensuring that the production process is completed successfully, in accordance with all specifications.

Essential duties and responsibilities include operating and maintaining CNC Lathe machines, reviewing drawings and instructions to ensure accurate production, taking precise measurements, setting up jobs, reading and understanding sketches and work instructions, monitoring production, checking output for quality assurance, performing machine maintenance and minor repairs, safely performing tasks, maintaining a safe and clean workstation, contributing to team effort, recommending strategies to ensure product development, working with supervisor and other team leads to prioritize staffing assignments, reporting problems or concerns, working closely with support staff to resolve issues, multi-tasking, taking initiative, and communicating clearly with team and management. The role also involves training and mentoring new team members.

Education and experience requirements include a minimum of 1 year experience as a lathe operator or technician, ability to read, speak and write in English.

Required responsibilities include monitoring production in the CNC Lathe department, experience setting up and operating CNC Lathe, conventional machining experience, excellent coordination and mechanical skills, strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety, solid written and verbal communication skills, current or active security clearance, proficiency in math, basic computer skills, understanding GD&T, machining training, experience on HAAS equipment, composite experience, previous experience in a manufacturing environment, programming, and no travel required for this position.
