Plumber IPerforms plumbing duties including installation, repair, and maintenance of all pipes, pumps and related equipment. Work is performed under general supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.Reports to: Plumbing InspectorSupervises: No supervisory responsibilitiesEssential Duties – Under the supervision of a Licensed Plumber, the Plumber I position performs the following duties:Repairs and/or replaces plumbing equipment including, but not limited to pumps, domestic water systems, sewer systems, drains, and commercial/residential plumbing accessories.Oversees the maintenance of competition pool and outdoor fountains.Performs preventative maintenance.Secures necessary supplies and materials from the warehouse as required.Additional DutiesCompletes planned maintenance on all equipment.Observes prescribed work and safety rules.Performs other duties as requested.Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience: Two years' experience as journeyman plumber. Job related vocational training may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.Requirements: Must be licensed by the State of Texas Board of Plumbing Examiners and maintain licensing during employment. Valid driver's license issued by the State of Texas and a safe driving record such as required to attain Driver's Authorization through the university. Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
