2027 Future Talent Program - Elkton Manufacturing Intern

This 10-12 week manufacturing internship with Merck's Elkton, Virginia facility offers exposure to biopharmaceutical and vaccine production across engineering disciplines. Interns will support technical operations, conduct investigations, and lead continuous improvement projects within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-floor operational and technical support; collaborate with shop floor on vaccine manufacturing projects
- Conduct technical investigations, analyses, and recommend corrective and preventative actions
- Write, review, and improve equipment and process procedures
- Complete performance improvement projects targeting efficiency, yield, cost, and cycle time reduction
- Perform data analysis and troubleshooting for daily operations; collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
- Currently enrolled sophomore or junior pursuing bachelor's in chemical, biochemical, biological, or mechanical engineering; biology; biochemistry; microbiology; or biotechnology
- Available minimum 10-12 weeks starting May 2027; onsite work required
- Superior technical competency demonstrated by excellent academic record and work achievements
- Strong communication skills, personal character, and established ethical standards
- Leadership experience through direct roles or leading by influence
- Robust problem-solving skills with proactive, field-oriented approach
Compensation: $39,908 - $111,111
