Senior Accountant

Job Details:SUMMARY:This position is primarily responsible for sales accounting activities, including daily review of margin changes, monitoring, and updating accruals, tracking credit memos/rebills and inventory, tracking expenses, preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and weekly and month end closing activities. This position works closely with sales/BU analysts, inventory, CSRs, RMG, sales/plant accountants and controllers. Position is the primary contact for sales accounting inquiries and performing other duties as needed.REQUIREMENTS:Education: Requires a Bachelors degree in an academic field directly related to the job being filled. Accounting degree preferred. 12 hours minimum accounting required.Experience: 3 plus years accounting experience.Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills. Proficient systems knowledge to include but not limited to SAP and MS Office applications. Advanced knowledge of Access preferred.Communication Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Supervisory: NoneSpecial Skills: Team member must have the ability to multitask, possess good interpersonal skills, and have an understanding of financial statements and related disclosures.Travel: NoneRelocation Assistance Eligible:NoWork Shift:Certain roles at Tyson require background checks.
