• Pediatric cardiac ICU experience strongly preferred
• Must be comfortable in high-acuity CICU setting

• Children's Hospital
• Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) - 32 beds total
  • Main CICU: 20 beds (high acuity)
  • IMU: 12 beds (step-down, increasing acuity)
• Nationally recognized pediatric cardiac center
• High-volume pediatric heart transplant program

• Pre- and post-operative cardiac surgical care
• Pediatric heart failure & transplant management
• Mechanical circulatory support (VADs, Impella, etc.)
• ECMO & renal replacement therapies
• Pulmonary hypertension
• Electrophysiology & pacemaker management

• Required (independent):
  • Removal of chest tubes, cardiac lines, pacing wires, surgical drains
• Preferred (not required):
  • Chest tube insertion
  • Arterial/central line placement
  • Intubation

• No residents; Fellows + APPs report to attending
• Weekdays: 6 providers + 1 APP resource (1:6 ratio)
• Weekends: 3 providers (1:10-1:12 ratio)
• Nights: 3 providers (similar ratios)

• Weekdays: Daily progress notes required
• Weekends/Nights: Notes for admissions, discharges, procedures, significant events
