Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level III trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and comfort working with both adult and pediatric ICU patients.
Details
- Respiratory Therapy department at a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center teaching hospital
- 733 staffed beds
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00-06:00)
- Weekend requirement every other weekend
- Floating required within hospital or affiliated campuses as needed
- No on-call requirement
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active state or Compact RRT license required at submission - license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of applicable experience required
- Must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric patients in ICU settings
- EPIC charting experience required
- No background or license actions within the past 12 months
- SSN and date of birth required at submission
- Must pass Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy and neuro diagnostics services to adult and pediatric ICU patients
- Teaching hospital environment with Level III trauma designation
- Scrub color requirement: solid black or black and white
- Candidates must complete pre-start modules estimated at 4-10 hours
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the main campus are not eligible
- Maximum of 4 days RTO permitted, with no holiday RTO accepted for this position
- Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Day shift travelers may extend once (maximum two contracts total); night shift travelers may extend twice (maximum three contracts total)
- After reaching maximum extensions, a 6-month waiting period applies before reapplying
- Call-off policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week assignment before affecting guaranteed hours
