Staff Size: 57

Shift Information

Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 RN per 2-3 patients
Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 RN per 2-3 patients

The unit employs nurse externs to assist the staff.

Patient Ratios

Typical patient ratios are 1 RN to 2 patients; however, under overflow conditions, this may increase.

Equipment and Technology

Lenet beds
GE monitors

EMR: Meditech

Qualifications

Required Skills:

A minimum of 1 year of current acute care ICU experience
Certification in ACLS, BLS, and NIH

Preferred Skills:

Neuro certification
Experience in neuro and trauma care

Typical Procedures

Rapid intubation
Chest tube insertion and EVD management
Care for LVAD and CCRT patients

Personality Fit

The ideal candidate will be flexible and willing to adapt to changing assignments mid-shift to accommodate patient acuity.
