Accounts Payable Clerk

Large National Moving/Transportation/StorageCompany Job Description Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances. Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries. Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments. Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions. Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions. Maintains historical records by microfilming and filing documents. Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation. Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential Qualifications High school diploma or G.E.D., formal training preferred; proficient with MS Word and Excel and use of computer-based accounting system is required; must have good knowledge of general office practices and demonstrated proficiency in bookkeeping/accounting Must display tact, courtesy and patience. Must be able to work as a team member and display initiative while being in harmony with and support of other staff members. Ability to prioritize and to multi-task in a fast paced environment, and to meet deadlines Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner Eye for detail and accuracy is imperative Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational and analytical skills Additional Information Up to $14.50 per hour depending on experience - #J-18808-Ljbffr Roger Ward North American
