Accounts Payable Specialist FT

JOB SUMMARY:The Accounts Payable Specialist provides both administrative and financial support to the organization by processing payable transactions, and monitoring accounts payable functions to ensure timeliness and accuracy.JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Codes expense invoices with general ledger account numbers after obtaining appropriate payment approval documentationData entry of expense and inventory invoicesReconciles packing slips with inventory invoicesCommunicates with suppliers and vendors to answer inquiries regarding payment and invoices.Collects and verifies invoices, bills, and checks; performs audits to ensure accuracy and appropriateness prior to paymentPrepares checks for payment; obtains appropriate authorization and signaturesPosts ACH and wire paymentsCreates correspondence: routine E-mails, forms, and recurring reports using computer-based word processing/spreadsheet programsTracks expenses, processes expense reports, and prepares analyses of accountsMonitors vendor aging reports and related financial activity for timely paymentAssists with inventoryOther tasks and projects as assignedDemonstrate and embodies our values: Be Limitless, Be Resilient, Be People Centered, Be a Team, and Be TrustworthyEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalent requiredCollege accounting courses preferredOne to two years of experience in accounting, accounts payable and/or bookkeepingKnowledge of computers and A/P software including word processing, spreadsheets, and job-specific softwareMust be proficient in Microsoft ExcelExperience with ERP software is a plusSKILLS/ABILITIES:Knowledge of basic mathAbility to speak and write EnglishAbility to use 10-key calculator by touchEffective verbal and written communication skillsMulti-taskerPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time.Must be able to lift 5-10 pounds.Must be able to conduct repetitive motions on a daily basis. #J-18808-Ljbffr SAN-Antonio-Lighthouse-For-the-Blind
