Medical Scheduler

Scheduler Position at Quantum Pain and OrthopedicsQuantum Pain and Orthopedics is looking for a full-time Scheduler to join the team! The Scheduler is responsible for checking out patients and understanding patient needs to successfully organize and schedule procedures accordingly and promptly.Essential Functions:Communicates with all appropriate parties regarding patient and procedureFollows-up and ensures all documentation is obtainedVerifies if all authorizations have been obtained prior to scheduling proceduresSchedules and/or reschedules patient follow-ups and proceduresCoordinates transportation for our procedure patients, if neededInform and provide patient with necessary information and instructions prior to procedure dateFollows-up on all Canceled or No-Show PatientsCheck-out patientsSends prescriptions to pharmacy via fax or e-mailMove patients through appointments as scheduledAnswer telephone and deal with inquiriesUpdate patients' information into databaseScans and files into patient docs on eCWH&P, Orders, Procedure Document, and prescriptions, if applicable under RX folderManage filing and record keeping activitiesUpdates daily log for all patients' office visitsUpdates daily log of all patients who have confirmed proceduresSubmits information to verification department for pre-authorizationEnsures completeness and accuracy of patients' formsReport statistics as requiredProtects patient and family privacy rights and maintains confidentiality of patient records in accordance to policy and procedure and HIPAA requirementsTravels as necessary to other facilitiesOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminologyStrong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and eCWStrong attention to detail: being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasksAbility to work independently by guiding oneself with little or no supervision and depending one oneself to get things doneExceptional customer service and phone etiquetteAbility to communicate professionally with patientsEnergetic with a desire to learn and develop new skillsAbility to travel between various locations if neededEducation and Experience:High School diploma or GEDSix (6) months of experience in a medical office scheduling settingBenefits:3 Medical Plans2 Dental Plans2 Vision PlansEmployee Assistant ProgramShort- and Long-Term Disability InsuranceAccidental Death & Dismemberment Plan401(k) with a 2-year vestingPTO + Holidays
