Manager, Materials Management

Worker Type: Regular This Material Management Manager position is responsible for the development, management, and maintenance of the Receiving, Shipping, and Material Control functions for all facilities under the VideoRay Segment. The role performs administrative and physical tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, tracking, distributing, and order fulfillment of materials, supplies, and equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining records and generating reports for accounting, property, and other functional areas. The primary duty is to control and track materials from receipt through storage to issue and shipment. Responsibilities Master Scheduling – create and maintain the overall schedule of products and orders, including target ship dates in support of customer requirements and financial objectives. Production Planning – create and maintain manufacturing orders necessary to produce components, subassemblies, and final assemblies in support of the Master Schedule. Inventory Control – pull parts for manufacturing orders in support of the master schedule, receive, stock, and issue parts accurately; perform cycle counts and audit compliance. MRP forecasting and KPI development and management. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, accounting, or equivalent. Minimum of 8 years of related functional experience (e.g., stockroom, inventory, shipping) or equivalent combination of experience and education. Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency with office software and a computerized inventory control system. Strong problem‑solving, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal & written) and attention to detail. Good understanding of DoT and international shipping regulations. Familiarity with commercial electronics shipping practices and handling methods. Experience with purchase order and inventory control data in a computerized MRP system. Experience supporting FAA and DoT audits; administrative support experience. Experience utilizing UPS, DHL, or FedEx online shipping systems. Experience with all facets of inventory management (ABC analysis, cycle counting, remote warehouse locations). Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required to drive company vehicles. Desired Competencies Strong computer skills – proficiency with ERP databases (Oracle) and Microsoft suites. Ability to excel in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment; experience working in small R&D teams. Prior Hazmat shipping experience (lithium‑ion or equivalent) is desired. Knowledge of safe material handling and ESD handling practices is desired. Effective communication with internal and external customers. Teamwork, collaboration, and initiative to accomplish goals and support company objectives. Championship of process change and promotion of a culture of quick adaptation. Ability to resolve discrepancies and track down root causes. Physical Demands Work in an office, warehouse, and assembly environment constantly. Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard frequently. Occasional operation of dolly and/or pallet jack for loading and unloading supplies and equipment. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and objects of varying sizes for shipment and set up in various training sites/customers occasionally. Special Requirements U.S. Citizen. Have or be able to have a DoD Security Clearance. May be required to travel within the Continental U.S. Clearance Level: No Clearance. Salary $106,500 – $151,200 ITAR Requirement This position requires access to information subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
