Job Summary

Under general supervision of agency management, the Personal Lines Account Manager maintains client relationships by providing excellent customer service. The position is also responsible for identifying and selling additional lines of insurance to existing clients and assisting clients through the claims process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Engage with and respond to client communications by phone, email, and other agency-approved methods.
• Work with insurance carrier personnel and appropriate third parties in the course of serving agency clients.
• Counsel clients on coverage decisions that best meet their needs within the scope of the employee's licensing and authority.
• Process policy changes using agency systems, carrier systems, and documented procedures.
• Identify and sell additional lines of business to existing clients when appropriately licensed.
• Keep accurate records of activity using agency tools and documentation standards.
• Perform duties ethically, professionally, accurately, and efficiently.
• Receive claims calls, assist clients through the claims process, and report claims to the appropriate carrier.

Additional Responsibilities

• Follow documented agency procedures and support their consistent use.
• Actively seek ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of assigned tasks.
• Communicate ideas for improving agency processes, procedures, equipment, and tools.
• Comply with all agency policies and maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Participate in team development, agency meetings, training, and other duties assigned by management.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of customer service experience; insurance industry experience preferred.
• Active Florida property & casualty insurance license preferred. An unlicensed hire must obtain the license required by the agency within 90 days of employment.

Travel, Work Environment and Physical Demands

• General internal office environment; occasional travel may be required for training or agency business.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, operate a computer and standard office equipment, communicate with clients and coworkers, and occasionally lift/carry up to 10 pounds.
