Part-Time Lunch Service Coordinator

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on scheduled school days Status: Part-time Reports To: Business Manager

Position Summary

Omaha Christian High School is seeking a dependable, organized, and service-minded individual to coordinate our daily catered lunch program and snack bar . This position is responsible for properly holding food, serving students, tracking lunch orders through the school’s online ordering platform, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and sanitary food-service area. Minimal cooking or food preparation is required . Meals arrive catered and are placed in appropriate warming or refrigerated storage until they are served.

The ideal candidate enjoys working in a school environment, is attentive to detail, and can provide friendly, efficient service to students while consistently following food-safety and sanitation requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Daily Lunch Service and other duties

• Organize the serving area and prepare for the student lunch period.

• Serve meals to students in a friendly, efficient, and orderly manner.

• Monitor food throughout lunch service and follow appropriate food-handling and sanitation practices.

• Assist students and school staff with basic questions regarding their lunch orders.

• Maintain , order, and stock items in the kitche n that pertain to lunch and the snack bar.

Lunch Order Administration

• Access and monitor the school’s online lunch ordering platform through FACTS .

• Making the calendar and adjusting the Family Portal as needed

• Confirming the Lunch orders

• Review daily student lunch orders and quantities prior to service.

• Track meals served and address order discrepancies as needed.

• Communicate recurring ordering or delivery issues to the Caterer .

• Print Daily Reports and Snack Sheets.

Food Safety & Sanitation

• Follow applicable Douglas County food-safety , sanitation, and food-handling requirements.

• Maintain proper cleanliness of serving, storage, and dishwashing areas.

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, serving equipment, warmers, counters, and other food-service surfaces.

• Maintain a clean and orderly lunch-service area before, during, and after lunch.

• Follow school procedures for safe food storage and handling.

• A Food Handler Certificate is expected.

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate supplies for daily lunch service .

• Report food delivery concerns, equipment problems, sanitation concerns, or other issues promptly to the Business Manager.

• Help maintain an orderly and welcoming lunch environment for students.

• Perform other lunch-program duties as assigned by the Business Manager.

Qualifications

• Dependable and punctual with the ability to work consistently during scheduled school days.

• Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with high school students.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Comfortable using an online ordering system and basic computer technology.

• Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities during busy lunch periods.

• Willing and able to follow all applicable food-safety , sanitation, and school procedures.

• Able to perform routine cleaning and dishwashing duties.

• Able to stand for extended periods and safely perform the physical tasks associated with receiving, moving, storing, and serving catered meals.

• Prior food-service , school, hospitality, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required .

Work Schedule

This is a part-time, school-day position from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The position is designed around the school’s student lunch program and academic calendar.
