Medical Assistant Job Description Responsibilities- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting patient information accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates- Administer vaccines/injections, perform phlebotomy duties, perform audiogram and respirator fit testing- Assist providers with clinical tasks such as medication administration, specimen collection, and basic life support (BLS) procedures- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings- Support physicians during X-ray procedures and other diagnostic tests as needed- Manage ICD coding for diagnoses to ensure proper documentation and billing processes- Assist with patient education on treatment plans, medication usage, and follow-up care- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols including cleaning and restocking exam rooms- Provide administrative support including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, patient wellness check and managing patient flow efficiently- Dispenses medications and appliances as ordered by the treating Physician- Monitor inventory- Attend staff meetings as required- Comfortable managing front and back office as solo MA.- Maintain and operate all medical devices, equipment, including calibration and record keeping in accordance with current policy and procedures- Be able to answer phone calls and be cross‑train to perform Front Office duties- Be flexible in taking on other duties as assigned by Center Administrator or ProvidersExperience- Prior experience in urgent care, or outpatient clinics for at least 2 years is highly desirable- Must be capable of working independently.
