Advanced Medical Support AssistantThe incumbent serves as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) in the Radiology/Nuclear Medicine Service. The MSA works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model within the Radiology/Nuclear Medicine Service Line. The incumbent will interface with numerous computer applications including but not limited to CPRS, VistA, MyHealtheVet, Vetllnk, VSE, etc. The incumbent performs these responsibilities with self-direction in the processing, care, and treatment of Veterans while functioning as a team member in the patient care delivery setting.Screens incoming calls to determine if they can be handled personally or directs them to the appropriate team member.Reviews the clinics appointment schedule to ensure that clinic utilization is optimized and effectively supports the needs of the clinics as well as the needs of the Veterans.Develops and maintains effective and efficient communication with the patient, interdisciplinary team, VA medical centers, and other agencies.Supporting patient safety standards using the correct Veterans Affairs identification of all patients.Setting the tone for perception concerning quality of healthcare services at the VA.Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pmTelework: May be authorized on an ad-hoc basis by the supervisory.Virtual: This is not a virtual position.Functional Statement #: 70865-FRelocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized
