Remote Eligible: This position is not eligible for remotework Special Instructions to Applicant: Job Summary This position provides comprehensive oversight and coordination ofthe College’s leave programs and accommodations under the Americanswith Disabilities Act (ADA). The role serves as a key liaison amongemployees, supervisors, internal departments, and external agenciesto ensure consistent application of policies and effectivecommunication regarding ADA, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA),workers’ compensation, and other leave-related matters.Responsibilities include interpreting and applying applicable lawsand College policies, facilitating leave and accommodationprocesses, conducting research, resolving complex issues, andsupporting employees throughout the duration of their leave oraccommodation request. The position plays a critical role inpromoting compliance, ensuring accurate documentation, andfostering a supportive work environment. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Essential Performance Requirements* Serves as liaison and information resource for faculty and staff,providing excellent customer service and proactive outreachregarding assigned programs while cultivating strong rapport withcustomers, as well as internal and external stakeholders Administers leave of absence and accommodation programs inaccordance with Federal, State and local regulations, as well asCollege policies and procedures Effectively receives, reviews, and makes decisions onaccommodation and leave requests under FMLA, ADA, Worker’sCompensation, Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment RightAct (USERRA), Pregnancy Discrimination Act (Title VII), PregnantWorkers Fairness Act (PWFA) and related policies Coordinates FMLA leave administration in partnership with athird-party provider, supporting the process from initial employeenotice through return to work, including documentationcoordination, communication, and tracking of intermittent orreduced schedule leave Maintains ongoing communication with employees and managersregarding leave status, expected leave duration, return to worktimeline, extensions, etc. Coordinates with Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS), IT,and Payroll department to ensure accurate pay status, benefitadministration, and system updates during periods of leave Collects, maintains, and safeguards confidential records,including medical documentation and case notes, supportingcompliance efforts and legal matters in consultation with GeneralCounsel as needed Prepares case documentation, interview summaries, and reports tosupport operational and management needs Responds accurately to inquiries regarding policies, procedures,programs, and compliance issues Maintains knowledge of retirement related rules including but notlimited to Teacher Retirement of Texas (TRS), Optional RetirementProgram (ORP), Social Security, and ERS to assist employees onleave Conducts ongoing auditing, reconciliation, record maintenance,and other reporting functions, ensuring program compliance withgovernment regulations Identifies opportunities for improvements in policies,procedures, and processes; takes the initiative to implementchanges within assigned responsibility and communicates updates torelevant stakeholders Service Excellence Participates on behalf of the College in external communityorganizations and associations as assigned to support the essentialperformance requirements Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, andfollows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of theworksite Completes all required training and professional developmentsessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC) Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of theCollege Supervision Works under the general supervision of the assigned departmentleader *Performs Other Related Tasks as Required The duties listed are intended only as illustrations of thevarious types of work that may be performed. Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience in thefacilitation of leave programs and policies in accordance with theapplicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, Worker’sCompensation, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, PregnantWorkers Fairness Act, etc.); or an equivalent combination ofeducation and related experience Preferred Qualifications Degree in Human Resources, Management, or related field Specialized certification in FMLA/leave and/or ADAadministration At least two (2) years of experience using an Absence ManagementCase Management System At least one (1) year’s working experience in highereducation Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the state and federal regulations related to theFMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, USERRA, Pregnancy DiscriminationAct, Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, etc. Knowledge of employee benefits packages and payroll processingand the relationship of both to leave administration Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems,including the Microsoft Office suite and the Microsoft 365platform Skilled in high quality case management of multiple leaveprograms simultaneously Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonalrelationships with various populations, including strong listening,verbal, and written communication Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment withinternal and external stakeholders, i.e. other departments,outsourced vendor relations, and supervisory personnel Ability to maintain a high level of diplomacy and tact, ensuringconfidentiality and discretion with sensitive and confidentialinformation Ability to grasp complex concepts and procedures quickly Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicateproblems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work arevaried and unpredictable in scope and volume Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representatives of thosethat must be met by an employee to successfully perform theessential functions of this job.
