About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to spearhead the design, strategic leadership, and execution of all fundraising activities. The CDO will be responsible for individual, corporate, foundation, and public giving, as well as managing a diverse, multi-million-dollar portfolio of donor partners. This role requires a proven track record in leading a team of fundraising professionals, with a focus on meeting and exceeding annual fundraising goals. The ideal candidate will be an authentic champion for the organization's mission, dedicated to building and enhancing relationships with current and new donors, and will play a key role in the long-term sustainability and growth of the organization. Key responsibilities for the CDO include team leadership and administration, development of annual fundraising strategies, and execution of plans to meet annual goals. The successful candidate will also be involved in a phased capital campaign, serving as the lead solicitor for major gifts and managing a team to support smaller gifts. Community relations are a crucial aspect of the role, as the CDO will serve as a spokesperson for the organization and work with the marketing team to develop comprehensive communication plans. The position demands a high level of professionalism, ethical standards, and the ability to engage with high-level donors. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for a CFRE, and at least 7-10 years of experience in similar roles. The CDO must have a strong background in fundraising, including experience in capital campaigns and securing major gifts, and possess exemplary communication skills.
