About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to spearhead a transformative fundraising program. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and leading a cutting-edge fundraising strategy that encompasses major and planned gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and annual giving. This role is pivotal in the completion of a significant comprehensive campaign and in positioning the organization for continued philanthropic success. The CDO will also be instrumental in refreshing the existing fundraising program, infusing it with creativity and technological innovation to enhance donor engagement and support. As a key member of the leadership team, the CDO will serve as the primary advocate for the organization, working to elevate its philanthropic brand and inspire greater support. This includes leading brand elevation campaigns and collaborating with internal leadership to ensure a cohesive and impactful philanthropic message. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large staff teams, developing best practices for fundraising, and designing world-class stewardship programs. They will also be responsible for carrying a personal portfolio of donors and leading prospect research to identify new philanthropic opportunities. The role requires a visionary leader who can work closely with the President, CEO, and Board of Trustees to engage them in philanthropic activities and support the organization's mission.
