Summary:

This role is responsible for preparing purchase orders, sending purchase orders to vendors, communicating with vendors for status updates, receiving and inspecting shipments, and keeping track of purchases and supplies. They make sure that what was purchased arrives on schedule and meets specifications. They work with engineering staff to respond to vendor questions and requests for drawing updates.

The ideal candidate will be sociable, proactive, able to get things done, have a high level of attention to detail, and have an interest in robotics, space, and technology. We are a small, but rapidly growing company, and tasks may change daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Generate requests for quotes and purchase orders based on information provided by engineering and best practices
• Maintain effective relationships with approved suppliers
• Send requests for quotes to multiple suppliers for the same items
• Follow up with suppliers to receive quotes in a timely manner
• Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery
• Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late orders
• Receive and inspect items on delivery, verifying that quality requirements are met
• Notify management of any delivery, cost, or quality problems
• Resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, traceability, and other important data
• Evaluate and maintain current database of supplier information
• Support kitting functions as needed
• Create build orders as needed
• Do not accept incentives from suppliers
• Maintain a safe, secure, and pleasant work environment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands.
• Ability to perform duties with little oversight or direction

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or three years of relative experience.
• Advanced competency in Excel required.

Language Skills:

Ability to speak and understand basic safety and manufacturing instructions.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers. Ability to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Authorization to work in the United States. To conform to U.S. export control regulations, you should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
