Registered Nurse RN Pediatric ICU

Job Summary Primary City/State: Tucson, Arizona. Department: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Job Category: Nursing. Work Shift: Night (3-12 hour shifts, 7 PM-7:30 AM). Self-scheduling tool available. Night shift differential 18%; flat $3/hour weekend differential. Core Functions Assess patients' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; review history, physicals, diagnostics and report abnormal results. Formulate and revise plans of care, including discharge plans, based on assessment data and collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team. Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision; provide care based on orders and compliance with policies. Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising plans as needed; evaluate progress towards goals. Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record in a legible, timely, policy-compliant manner. Provide evidence-based care and participate in research activities; contribute to unit shared leadership and the education, orientation and mentoring of staff. Participate in activities that improve patient outcomes, including professional organizations, standards of care, and quality indicators. Supervise staff and workflow in some roles. Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to report or clarify information; provide spiritual support when required. Minimum Qualifications Current, valid RN license in state of practice, or temporary/interim/compact RN license. BLS certification required. Experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital within the past 12 months, preferably in PICU or other critical care specialties (including neurocritical, cardiac critical, trauma, renal replacement therapy). Minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting (for Banner Registry and Travel positions). Required fingerprint clearance card if applicable (Arizona, Colorado, etc.). Demonstrated clinical performance competencies appropriate to the specialty area. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred. Professional certification preferred.
