Responsible for setting up and monitoring performance on all Heat Treat operations

Essential Functions:
- Communicate the Standard Work Instructions and Quality Standards to heat treat mechanics and monitor compliance and adherence to the standards.
- Verify documentation of all heat treat verifications on the proper quality form (QF).
- Take steps to remedy any non-conformances
- Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or malfunction.
- Measure work piece to determine accuracy of machine operation.
- Monitor and maintain the quench system on all heat treat operations.
- Troubleshoot machine problems and works with supervision, heat treat mechanics and maintenance to ensure machines are running efficiently.
- Perform minor machine maintenance as required such as but not limited to repairing tooling, buss bars, coils, fixtures, etc.
- Help set up Heat Treat Operations.
- Train employees in the heat treat operation.
- Work well with supervision and co-workers.
- Work with Engineering team on Heat Treat projects
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the heat treat area preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as, but not limited to Rockwell Tester, Calipers, Refractometer.
- Ability to read blue prints.
- Ability to work and complete projects independently .
- Demonstrates dependability and adherence to all safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to stand continuously for 8 - 12 hours.
- Ability to work in tight places
- Strength and manual dexterity sufficient to operate tools to make repairs
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds repetitively.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to twist, bend and lift repetitively.
- Ability to stand, crouch and climb to perform repairs, use ladders and perform various types of manual labor.
- Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills.
- Vision (with correction) is sufficient to read blueprints and orders and the ability to record the information either manually or in a computer.
- Exposure to a noisy work environment.
- Exposure to hot and humid conditions.
- Exposure to hot steel.
- Exposure to fumes.
- Exposure to welding arc.
- Exposure to coolants, oils, grease and water.
- Ear and Eye protection required at all times in all production areas.
- Steel toe boots with integrated metatarsal guards required in production area.
