Medical Recruitment Strategies
Job Title: Pharmacist (Behavioral Health) Job Type: Temporary/Locum Assignment Location: Anchorage, AK 99508 Assignment Duration: ASAP start for approximately 4–8 weeks Schedule: Mondays: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (weekly) August 3–7: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Additional weekday coverage may be available as needed. Weekend coverage is not currently required, though occasional on-call support may be requested. Position Overview: Seeking a licensed Pharmacist to provide temporary coverage in an acute behavioral health setting. The pharmacist will support medication management services for pediatric behavioral health and detoxification patients while working closely with pharmacy staff and clinical teams. Key Responsibilities: Perform medication order entry and verification. Conduct Omnicell medication cabinet checks and management. Monitor medication therapy for safety and effectiveness. Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and healthcare providers to ensure quality patient care. Support pharmacy operations in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Active Alaska Pharmacist license (required). Acute care and/or behavioral health pharmacy experience preferred. Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment. Technology: Electronic Medical Record: HCS Web EMR (onsite training provided) Automated Dispensing System: Omnicell via Citrix/OCRA Remote Desktop (training provided) Practice Setting: Behavioral Health (Pediatrics and Detox) Approximately 74 licensed beds with an average daily census of 65–70 patients. Support & Training: Pharmacy team includes a full-time pharmacy technician and pharmacist support. Distribution support available. Onsite orientation and training provided before the start of the assignment. Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $75 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
